Reserves Update - 10/11/07
The game against Harwich on Saturday can basically be summed up as a bad day at the office for everybody involved. We never got started and this was nowhere near the performances we have put in recently. The game seemed to slip away after Harwich scored their first goal and after a dubious offside second we never looked like getting back into the game. After the break with us pushing forward the Harwich team scored the third to run out worthy winners on the day.

This result aside, I am extremely pleased with how things are going. Saturday's defeat was the first in the league against a very good Harwich side. We have already played the likes of AFC Sudbury, Wivenhoe and Harwich at home and picked up creditable results that sees us 3rd in the table.

We have played some good football at times and we are all getting to grips with playing against better sides week in week out. The young lads in the squad are to be commended as they have stepped up to the plate and are holding their own with the senior players against teams who are far more experienced at this level of football.

I think if we continue as we are and get better in every game then there are exciting times ahead. Maybe the best will be seen from this squad of players when they have had a season of experience under their belts, so next season might be the one where we expect big things from the players.

We are still missing several players and maybe a little experience of an older head or two, sometimes we need that to settle us down when we're playing in tight games. On that note, Mark Dack has been superb all season and he has been a tremendous help to me and the lads both on and off the pitch.

Let's hope we can continue to play well, we have a good team spirit so lets put Saturday's defeat behind us and pick up the form we showed late last month.
