Latest Report: Home v Woodbridge Town, Lost 0-1 (Sun 17 Feb 2008)
This was a highly entertaining game of football with plenty of quick and neat football being played by both sides. New Signing Joe Newman had a solid and impressive game playing along side skipper Jack Howard in the centre of defence and was supported by Thomas Bigg and Ben Hyett who both had terrific defensive performances.
The first half saw plenty of action at both ends with Melford slightly having the upper hand. Josh Martin slotted in well into his new supporting role up front with Ryan Weaver.Anthony Fernandez, Ricky Cook, Adam King and Jack Robirosa kept possession well in midfield and worked tirelessly to support the front two.
This was one of the best performances that Melford have given all season with everyone playing with confidence. But,with every game being played to a very high standard, you get punished for one lapse of concentration, which is what happened again on Sunday. Woodbridge got the only goal of the game on 60 minutes when their striker was allowed to finish well from close range.
Melford continued to press. Josh Martin glanced a header onto the post from an Adam King free kick and Ryan Weaver hit the bar. Both teams should be and were appluaded off the pitch for producing such a terrific game of football. Well done Long Melford and Woodbridge Town .
Next Sunday is Whitton United away - 2pm kick off.

The Under 16's will play in the Eastern Junior Alliance (Northern Section) for the 2007/08 season. Their training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6.30pm-8pm on both nights). All Sunday home matches will be played on the main pitch at Stoneylands and will kick off at 2pm .
