Long Melford Football Club
From The Secretary
17 October 2007

' Well, half a dozen games into the new season and the overall picture looks really good, we have had some fantastic results across the Colts' fixtures with some really convincing wins and great games of football. Let's have a look at where some of the teams are after 6 weeks.

U8's Reds - 3rd in their league played 4 won 4 , had they had the numbers early in the season they would be higher.

U11's - Sitting firmly at the top played 6 won 6 with +37 goal difference, no pressure then Steve.

U12's Blues - 3rd in their league, won 3 from 6 "A" league so competition will be tough.

U14's - 3rd in their league played 6 won 4 a draw and a loss, fantastic improvement this season.

U15's - 3rd in their league newly promoted this season really holding their own. best looking Manager.

U16's Reds - 3rd in their league, Malcolm's side have won 3 from 5, great team spirit.

U16's Fillies - 3rd after only 2 games a win and a loss, Home on the 28th Oct come along and support.

Well done to all teams, it is early doors but 6 teams in the top 3 of their leagues in the C&DYL is a encouraging start. But It's not all about winning we have the biggest youth setup for years with over 200 young people enjoying and taking part in the Greatest Game in the World.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Andy Cussans who runs the website, the site is absolutely brilliant, how he can keep it so up to date is amazing, the site looks good and Andy has added great new extras like top goalscorers, he updates each team's own page each week with match reports and results, a lot of hard work has gone into this site and Andy gives up a lot of his time.  We in the Colts thank you Andy. ( For those sceptics amongst you, I know Andy runs the site but yes it was me, not Andy, who added this footnote). '
