Geoff joined Melford towards the end of 2008 as Coach and has had his coaching badge for 27 years. Worked in London at several schools and adult institutes gaining much experience along the way. Then moved to Saturday football with Tower Hamlets, Chingford and Stambridge F.C. to name a few. Geoff has worked with John Lyle (West Ham) and Don Howe (Arsenal & England). Appointed Manager in October 2009.

JASON MAHER

Joined the club in November 2009. Jason comes to Melford after suffering a bad injury which stopped him playing. He has a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts in football having played at different levels for different clubs and has also played under Geoff’s management before.

Joined the club in February 2010. Katie is currently half way through the second year of a Physiotheraphy degree at Brighton University.

PAUL WOOD

Paul made 31 1^st Team appearances for Halstead Town last season prior to signing for Melford in February 2009. Spent 4 years at Tottenham Hotspur where he progressed from their youth team to become a full-time professional. After leaving Spurs he had spells at Barnet, Stevenage Borough and Hornchurch.

ERROL DURELL

Errol played for the LMFC Colts teams, then played U18s and reserve team football at Melford before breaking into the 1^st Team in the 2005/06 season. In 2006/07 he had his best season at Melford to date when he won the 1^st Team Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards.

Long serving Melford player who can play anywhere across the backline or as a centre forward. Very popular with the club’s supporters. Previous clubs include Tiptree United and Sudbury Town. Clubman of the Year 2008/09.

SCOTT MCKNIGHT

Captained the Reserves earlier in the season before stepping up to 1st Team duty where he has looked very solid at right back.

GARY MCSWEENEY

Gary joined Melford in August 2009. Former Maldon Town, Tiptree United and Arlesford Colne Rangers player, can play anywhere across the back four but feels centre half is his best position. Has also played central midfield.

HARRY REARDON

Left footed left back who likes to get forward as much as possible. Quick and vocal, a good addition to the squad. Previous clubs include Halstead Town and Braintree Town.

PAUL BARNES

Right back who joined the club in September 2009 and has made 8 full appearances for the 1st Team. Good on the ball, looks comfortable at Ridgeons level.

Commanding centre half who has served the club very well over the years, has won the Suffolk Senior Cup with Melford and had a successful spell as player/assistant manager of the club’s reserve team.

Progressed through the club’s youth teams. Dan is a versatile member of the squad who can play in a variety of positions. Can play left back or in a more advanced role down the left, central midfield or up front.

Returned to the club in August 2009 after a year away from Melford in which he played for Hadleigh United and AFC Sudbury. Played hundreds of LMFC Colts matches before stepping up to the U18s and Reserves before making his First Team debut in 2005/06.

DANIEL STATHAM

Took his chance with both hands in 2007/08 when promoted from the Reserves. Last season he did even better, establishing himself as 1^st Team regular, captain and leading scorer. He capped a fine season by winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year trophies.

Adam progressed through the LMFC Colts teams and is now a key member of our U18s. He has impressed when on First Team duty, setting up several goals.

Returned to the club in March 2009, the majority of his playing career has been at Melford and has also played for several other clubs including Haverhill Rovers, Diss Town and Stowmarket Town. Can play as a full back, in midfield or up front.
