LONG MELFORD RES. 3 BRANTHAM ATHLETIC RES. 0 (February 17, 2010)
LIAM CAWTHERAY: Scored twice for the Reserves on Saturday
Long Melford Reserves 3 Brantham Athletic Reserves 0
Saturday 13 February 2010
The game started with not a lot of football played but a
lot of hard work from Melford. Brantham had the better of the 1st half with Daniels
marking 3 good saves, before we started to get into the game making some chances
ourselves. With 5 minutes to half time Liam Cawtheray scored to take us to half
time 1 -0 up. At half time L.Simpson replaced Statham.
The
second half Brantham came at us; we dug in and then took control of the game.
After 10 minutes A.Clark replaced Barr. With a good move involving Ben
Simpson, Luke Simpson hitting the bar Perry followed up to head home to make it
2-0.
Brantham
put pressure on us and got a pen for handball by A.Clark. The pen was saved by
Daniels to keep us 2-0 up. We then went down the Brantham end and Cawtheray
scored his second to make it 3-0.
Alston
then replaced Perry with 10 minutes to go, we still kept pushing for more
goals. Full time Melford 3 Brantham 0. This is only the second game they have
lost this season, so we need to perform like this every week now and push
up the table boys.
