BEN SIMPSON: Scored twice for the Reserves today

Ipswich Wanderers Res. 0 Long Melford Res. 5
Saturday 6th February 2010

We went to Ipswich without a full team and people had to play out of position. We started well and took the game to Ipswich.

On 20 minutes we went ahead via a Dechlan Costello header from a Perry corner. We then got a second from Ben Simpson. Then with a good move Daniels crossed for Perry to head home.

Daniels headed just over the bar from another Perry corner,Sharp then got injured and Barr came on, half time we were 3-0 up.

At half time Paul Wood came out of goal and Daniels replaced him in goal. Ipswich came at us at start of second half but we dug in and Hynard,M. Clark,Tatum and Barr defended well. We then got on top of the game with Bartlett and Costello in the centre taking control.

Perry hit the post from a Wood pass, Wood then had 2 good chances to extend our lead but put them past the post. Gammage worked his socks off on the left side of midfield,
B Simpson got the ball and turned his marker and shot from 20 yards into the top corner.

Alston then replaced M Clark. Perry got past his marker the keeper came out Perry rounded him and put a pass through to Wood to finish off an outstanding performance from the whole team. Final score 5-0 win.

Well done boys we now need to keep this up thanks. Ady & Carl
