The freeze has been devastating for Melford with a lack of games all round, and with no games little income into the Club. At training on Thursday (14^th) some thirty or so players turned out. It was good to see Dan Grindrod (pictured) back from his college, and he will now be available right through to March as he takes up a temporary teaching job in the area. Also at training were two new faces who hopefully will sign up to help out with the first team squad levels. Looking at the pitch at training night it looked very unlikely that any football will be played at Stoneylands for a while, and taking that into account and the heavy subsoil at the Rush Green Bowl Clacton it would be surprising if that pitch was playable this Saturday (Update - both the 1st Team and Reserves fixtures on Saturday 16th January were indeed postponed).
